Hospitality

Completed in 2010, the Steigenberger Tahrir Hotel is a hospitality development located in downtown Cairo, commissioned by The Holding Company for Tourism, Hotels & Cinema (HOTAC). Executed by Siac with design coordination from EHAF, the hotel includes guest rooms, banquet spaces, fitness facilities, and dining areas, all positioned adjacent to Tahrir Square. The architectural approach combines international hospitality requirements with the local urban fabric, delivering a setting that is both functional and context-aware.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Exterior Cladding and Interior Cladding El Alfy Saraya executed stone cladding works across both the exterior façade and interior public zones. Jerusalem Limestone panels were used for the exterior elevations, selected for their weather resistance and compatibility with the surrounding historic masonry. For interior applications, Blue Celeste Marble was installed on lobby columns and reception walls, introducing a distinctive focal point aligned with the hotel’s overall design strategy.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Interior Flooring and Bathrooms The company also installed stone flooring throughout the hotel’s primary zones. Flamed Black Granito was used in entrances and corridors to provide slip resistance and visual depth. Guest-room and banquet areas were finished with Palomino Beige Marble to create uniform floor transitions and a consistent material palette. In bathrooms, Silver Travertine was used for wall cladding, paired with Matte Gray Marble flooring to support both visual clarity and functional performance in daily operations.
