OverviewCompleted in 2016, the Anti‑Doping Laboratory in Doha’s Aspire Zone was commissioned by the Qatari Government (Aspire Zone Authority) and executed by Al Balagh Trading & Contracting Co., with design consultancy from Qatar Design Consortium. Initially established in 2011 and officially inaugurated in late 2012, the facility reached full operational capacity by 2016 after receiving WADA accreditation. Enclosed within a steel-framed, curtain-glazed structure, the building accommodates advanced scientific functions within a performance-focused architectural envelope.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Interior Cladding El Alfy Saraya delivered interior wall cladding throughout laboratory and administrative areas using Jura Grey Limestone, selected for its low porosity, neutral tone, and hygienic surface performance. In clean zones and reception areas, Bianco Dolomiti Marble was installed to increase brightness and maintain clarity in key visual areas. All stone elements were installed with hygienic sealants and flush-mounted systems, meeting the facility’s technical requirements.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Interior Flooring The team also executed the interior flooring using Technical Porcelain Stoneware in laboratory and corridor spaces, chosen for its chemical resistance, durability, and minimal upkeep. In office and support zones, Silvershadow Quartzite provided added slip resistance and acoustic control while supporting a consistent material language. The completed flooring system combines hygienic performance with architectural alignment across a highly regulated scientific facility.
