Completed in 2014, the Souq Waqif Car Park is a strategically located facility adjacent to Doha’s historic Souq Waqif. Commissioned by the Private Engineering Office (PEO), designed in-house, and executed by Urbacon Trading & Contracting, the structure supports one of the city’s busiest cultural and commercial districts. The design addresses high footfall with resilient, climate-adapted materials while aligning with the character of the surrounding heritage environment.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Landscape and Exterior Integration El Alfy Saraya delivered landscape works and outdoor finishes along the car park perimeter. Flamed Granite Paving was applied to pedestrian walkways and drop-off areas for slip resistance and long-term surface stability. Desert Sand Beige Limestone slabs were installed in entrance plazas and landscaped pockets, selected to provide a natural transition between contemporary infrastructure and the adjacent traditional district.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Interior Flooring and Cladding Inside the parking facility and service areas, El Alfy Saraya applied durable stone finishes designed for continuous public use. Bush-Hammered Limestone Flooring was used in ramps and internal driveways to ensure traction and wear resistance. In pedestrian and lift lobbies, Grigio Carnico Marble Cladding was installed on vertical surfaces to introduce tonal contrast and maintain material consistency in high-traffic zones.
