Completed in mid-2019, the redevelopment of Cairo International Stadium in Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt, was led by The Arab Contractors, serving as both contractor and consultant. Commissioned by the Egyptian Olympic Committee in collaboration with the Egyptian Football Association, the project involved upgrading the stadium’s structure, public zones, and access points in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. The works included seating enhancements, electronic systems, lighting, landscaping, and exterior infrastructure to improve the overall spectator experience.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Steel & Aluminum Exterior Cladding El Alfy Saraya delivered specialist façade works, fabricating and installing steel structural components for newly added canopies and walkways. The team also executed the aluminum cladding system across exterior plazas, entrances, and VIP reception areas. These materials were selected for their durability and resistance to environmental exposure, ensuring compatibility with the stadium’s updated architectural framework.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Interior Flooring Inside the venue, El Alfy Saraya completed the interior flooring package in hospitality lounges, VIP corridors, and public concourses. Polished granite was applied in key reception areas for its durability and formal character, while honed marble was used in comfort zones such as VIP lounges and suites. The flooring was specified to handle high foot traffic while maintaining a consistent and well-executed interior finish.
