The Alexandria Naval Unknown Soldier Memorial, located in the Mansheya district of Alexandria along the Mediterranean Corniche, is a national monument originally completed in 1964. Commissioned by the Egyptian government and executed by The Arab Contractors, the memorial honors naval personnel lost in coastal sea battles since 1952. The design features a semi‑circular colonnade and central sarcophagus, blending classical architecture with commemorative purpose across approximately 800 m² of covered space.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Marble Flooring and Cladding El Alfy Saraya completed the full marble package within the covered memorial area. Cremino Delicato marble was selected for the flooring due to its fine grain and subdued pink-beige tone, supporting the site’s solemn environment. Wenge Light marble was used for wall cladding to establish a darker, grounded backdrop for structural columns and inscriptions. All marble components were precision-cut and installed with flush joints, meeting the project’s high-execution standards within a one‑month timeline.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Custom Stone Finishes Beyond flooring and cladding, El Alfy Saraya fabricated and installed custom stone crosses, plinths, and structural details surrounding the sarcophagus. These features were crafted from the same marble palette, polished and aligned with the monument’s architectural rhythm. The work ensured cohesive integration of material, form, and symbolic function throughout the memorial.
