Governmental

Completed in 2017 for the Ministry of Interior, the Police Mosque in Egypt is a governmental religious facility developed and executed by Orascom Construction. Designed to support both ceremonial and daily worship, the mosque integrates classical architectural references with modern construction methods. The project reflects institutional identity while maintaining spiritual focus, delivering a space defined by clarity, discipline, and material consistency.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Marble Cladding, Columns, and Interior Flooring El Alfy Saraya executed the full scope of interior marble cladding and flooring using Giallo Sienna Marble, applied throughout prayer halls, the mihrab, and circulation zones. Known for its golden veining, the material supports a formal yet welcoming tone. The project also included carved Verdi Alpi Marble columns, introducing a deep green contrast that provided both visual weight and spatial rhythm. All marble elements were cut and installed with precision to maintain alignment, scale, and architectural order.
El Alfy Saraya’s Role – Wood Cladding and Custom Doors In addition to stonework, El Alfy Saraya fabricated and installed solid wood cladding panels and custom handcrafted doors, incorporating Islamic geometric motifs into the joinery. Finished in rich walnut tones, the wood elements balanced the stone palette while contributing to acoustic control and visual depth. These carpentry works added detailed, material coherence across transitional and worship areas.
